Condor
Condor is Germany’s primary leisure airline and is based at Frankfurt Airport. Established in 1955, the carrier specializes in connecting travelers to vacation destinations across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia.
- Branding and Identity: The airline is famous for its bold striped livery, which was introduced in 2022 to evoke the feeling of beach towels and summer holidays. Each aircraft features stripes in colors such as yellow, blue, red, green, or beige.
- Fleet Modernization: Condor has recently updated its long-haul fleet with the Airbus A330-900neo, which offers significantly lower fuel consumption and a modern three-class cabin including Business Class with lie-flat seats. It is also in the process of replacing its short and medium-haul fleet with A32xneo aircraft.
- Ownership and Operations: Previously a part of the Thomas Cook Group, Condor is now largely owned by the investment firm Attestor Capital. It operates as an independent carrier but maintains partnerships with airlines like Alaska Airlines and Lufthansa for feeder flights and lounge access.
- Service Model: Certified as a 4-star leisure airline by Skytrax, Condor offers a hybrid service model. Long-haul passengers receive meals and entertainment, while short-haul flights typically operate with a more budget-oriented approach where food and beverages are available for purchase.
